Wandrealm

Questions

Is it free?

Yes. Wandrealm is free to play. You only need your own copy of Hogwarts Legacy on Steam or the Epic Games Store.

Is my solo save safe?

Yes. Wandrealm copies your solo character and plays the copy, which is kept on your PC and on our servers. Your solo character's save files are not written to or deleted.

Which PC and game version do I need?

Hogwarts Legacy on Steam or the Epic Games Store, on a Windows PC that runs the game. The Xbox app (Game Pass) copy is not supported. Wandrealm supports one game build at a time, and the launcher tells you if yours doesn't match.

How many friends can play together?

For now, everyone plays together in the official realms, run by the Wandrealm team: up to 512 players each, with up to 50 in view at once. Soon you'll be able to make your own realm for up to 4 players at once.

Is Wandrealm official?

No. Wandrealm is a fan-made mod. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Warner Bros. Games, Avalanche Software or Portkey Games.

How do I uninstall it?

From the launcher: choose Uninstall and it removes the mod from your game. Your solo saves are not touched.

Can I use other mods with Wandrealm?

Some of them. Your pak mods (in the game's Paks, ~mods and LogicMods folders) stay on while you play Wandrealm. Your script mods (the ones that run through a mod loader) are set aside while you play and put back when you close the game. Mods that change how the game looks work fine. Mods that change how the game plays can cause problems, so if something goes wrong, try again without them.

Will other players see my modded outfits, spells or broom?

No. Other players see the game's own versions: a modded outfit, texture or broom looks standard to them, and a spell or ability added by a mod is not shown to them. Only players who have the same mod installed may see it.

Can a mod stop my progress from saving?

Yes. A mod that changes the structure of the game's save makes your Wandrealm progress stop saving, because our servers only accept saves the standard game makes. Don't use such mods while you play Wandrealm. If your progress stops saving, send your logs from the launcher so we can help.

Will I lose my achievements?

No. Your solo character keeps its achievements. The character you play in Wandrealm is a mod character, and the game gives mod characters no achievements.

Can I play on another PC?

Yes. Sign in to the launcher on any PC and your character comes with you: it is kept on our servers.

How do I play with my friends?

For now, everyone plays together in the official realms, run by the Wandrealm team. Soon you'll be able to make your own realm and share its invite link or code.

Why do I choose a username?

It is the name other players see above your head and in your realm. It is unique, you choose it once when you sign up, and your email is never shown to anyone.

When can I play?

Now. Download the launcher from the Play page, sign in with your free account, and join the official realms.

Why does my antivirus warn about Wandrealm?

A few antivirus engines may flag the launcher with a generic machine-learning guess, not a detected virus. The launcher is not code-signed yet, so Windows may show "Unknown publisher", and unsigned software from new publishers is scored more harshly. The installer also contains nsis_tauri_utils.dll, a small helper every installer built with Tauri (an open-source app framework) has, which only runs while installing. The launcher signs you in with your Wandrealm account, finds your own Hogwarts Legacy, puts the mod files into your game folder when you press Play and removes them when you close the game. The mod runs on a standard open-source modding framework for Unreal Engine games that many other mods also use. It installs no drivers or services and makes no system-wide changes.

What do you keep about me?
