Wandrealm

What works in Wandrealm multiplayer

Wandrealm is in development. This page lists what you can do together today and what is not ready yet. It comes straight from our roadmap, last updated 31 October 2026.

Ready to play

  • See your friends move, jump, fly and cast. Other players walk, run, jump, dodge, cast and fly brooms beside you, with their own look.
  • Every move reaches the players around you. Spells, jumps, dodges and broom moves reach the players around you, near or far, even on a patchy connection, including the first casts of someone who has just come into view.
  • Spell effects everyone can see. Other players' spells look the way they do for them, with the fire rings, blasts and other effects their talents add.
  • Lumos, Protego and Disillusionment. Other players see your Lumos light and your Protego shield for as long as you hold them, and see you turn hidden when you cast Disillusionment.
  • Swim, climb, crouch and ride together. Friends swim, dive and climb with you, crouch and sneak beside you, and ride their graphorns and hippogriffs, even when several riders are in view at once.
  • Names and levels above players. Every player in your realm shows their name and level, like the game's own name plates.
  • In-game text chat. Chat with everyone in your realm without leaving the game.
  • Join notices. See who joins your realm on the game's own notice ticker. Turn them off in the launcher.
  • Cleared camps stay cleared. Clear a camp with friends and it stays cleared for everyone on the realm until it respawns. Players nearby see the enemies fall as it happens, and the loot goes to those who helped. Quest enemies, named enemies, beasts you can catch and wildlife stay your own.
  • Fight the same enemy together. Everyone in a fight sees the same enemies, with one health bar. Enemies attack and react the same way for everyone, and turn on whichever player is fighting them. It works on Steam and Epic. Enemy movement can still look a little stiff.
  • The same time of day and weather. Day and night, rain, snow and sunshine are the same for everyone in a realm. Quests that need a certain time of day still work, then the realm's time returns.
  • Move and smash objects together. Lift, throw, push and pull objects with Wingardium Leviosa, Levioso, Accio, Depulso and Descendo, and the players around you see them move and land in the same place. Smash a crate or barrel and it breaks for everyone and stays broken for 30 minutes.
  • Doors everyone shares. Unlock a door with Alohomora and it is unlocked for everyone on the realm, including players who join later. You need the Alohomora level the door asks for, and you see each other swing doors open.
  • Proximity voice chat. Talk out loud with the players near you and hear them from where they stand, fading with distance. It's off until you turn it on in the launcher's Voice page. Push-to-talk is V by default, and you can mute or block anyone and set each player's volume.
  • Only the players who are with you. You only see players who are in the same place as you, so nobody floats in the air while you are in a dungeon or inside Hogwarts.
  • Your character saved on our servers. Bring your character across once; it is kept safe on our servers, with earlier versions to fall back on.
  • Play from any PC. Sign in anywhere and your character comes with you.
  • Your own player name. Choose a unique name when you sign up. It is what other players see above your head, never your email.
  • Your progress kept safe. Saves cannot be loaded while you play with others. If the game stops saving to Wandrealm you get a warning and reminders. If your game's Wandrealm copy has newer progress than we received, Play warns you and backs it up before replacing it. Your solo character isn't affected.
  • Your solo saves aren't written to or deleted. Wandrealm copies your solo character and plays the copy, which is kept on your PC and on our servers. Your solo character's save files are not written to or deleted.
  • Official realms. Run by our team and open to every player, up to 512 at once.
  • Big, smooth realms. Our own realm server keeps big crowds smooth and secure: more players in one place, your PC showing as many of them as it can while the game stays smooth, and checks that stop a broken or tampered game from spoiling a realm.
  • The Wandrealm launcher. Install the mod, sign in, bring your character across and press Play. It keeps itself and the mod up to date, posts news from every update, shows messages and restart warnings from our team, and sends us your logs with one press when you need help.
  • Parties. Team up with friends in a party: invite, join, leave and pick who leads. See each other on the screen, the minimap and the world map, share the credit for kills made near each other, and talk in your own party chat.
  • Friendly duels. Challenge another player to a duel and fight it out in a ring, with nobody really getting hurt: the first one knocked down yields.

Built, switched on soon

For now, everyone plays together in the official realms.

  • Invite links and codes. Make a realm and share a link; friends join in one click. Built, and switched on once we have tested it with players.
  • Public realms anyone can join. Make your realm public and anyone can find it and join. Built, and switched on once we have tested it with players.

Not ready yet

Being built now

  • The House Cup. Earn points for your house by playing together: everyone on the realm sees the same standings, in the launcher, in the game and on the website.
  • Open-world PvP. Flag yourself with /pvp or F9 to fight other flagged players, with a combat lock, knockdowns and protection after a defeat. It stays off unless you opt in.
  • PvP ranks. Earn ten wizarding ranks through PvP, from Wand Cadet up to Order of Merlin, with a rank icon on your nameplate and house points for your PvP wins.
  • Better duels. Duels and wand clashes get more drama: held poses and a proper wand-link beam.
  • Wandrealm menu in the game. One menu in the game (/menu or Insert) for your PvP progress and the House Cup standings, and a page in the launcher to rebind Wandrealm's keys.
  • Smoother parties. Party members move live on the world map, invites wait while you are in the map or a menu, aim at a player and press F5 to invite them, and the party list has a fresh look.
  • World events together. The random ambushes and roaming groups in the open world are the same for everyone nearby, so you fight them together and everyone gets credit.
  • Characters kept on our servers. Your character kept safely on the Wandrealm server instead of in local save files, so your progress follows you to any PC and cannot be lost or edited.
  • Realm activities and events. New activities and events added to a realm on our side, with nothing for you to install, starting with the groundwork for Quidditch: balls everyone sees.

Up next

  • Named bosses and bigger fights. Named bosses and set-piece fights shared with your group, smarter enemies, and smooth handovers when someone leaves mid-fight.
  • Side quests together. Team up for a side quest: when one of you finishes a step, it is done for the whole party.
  • Arenas, teams and walk-up games. On-screen prompts and banners from realm events, arenas and private copies of places, and walk-up activities with teams: the road to Quidditch.
  • Beasts together. See the beasts the players around you rescue and care for in their vivariums, and look after them together.
  • A fresh start with friends. Start a new character ready to play with others, without replaying the prologue on your own.
  • Character slots. Keep up to three Wandrealm characters on your account: bring in your own saves or start fresh ones.
  • Story missions together. Play story missions as a party in your own instance, with the same enemies and cutscenes for everyone.

Everything else we plan is on the roadmap. We never promise dates.
